We have just purchased a NEW 2007 Holiday Rambler Endeavor and are trying to figure out how we are supposed to get HD from our Dish Network Receiver to our TV. Apparently the manufacturer does not run a HDMI cable to the HDTV, which is my opinion is a little ridiculous. Why have a HDTV without running the cables? PLEASE HELP? OR ANY SUGGESTIONS for us?

You should be able to run an HDMI wire from the sat receiver to the back of the TV. We just traded our 07 Endeavor 40 SFT and that was possible on that unit. Where is your sat receiver located? If it is all stuffed in the compartment over the driver it probably should be moved out. I built shelves that mounted under that compartment to hold the sat receiver and a blueray DVD.

Here is a link to a post that shows what we did.

Just Upgraded my Magnadyne Radio

It is post number 25 in this discussion. I can provide more detail about the mod if needed.

One thing I forgot to put in my post was that this is an Endeavor 40 SKQ so the TV is located in the middle of the coach, that is where we are running into the problem. Also, the other question I have is the switch to turn off the speakers in the back bedroom is it the switch that says Home Theater in the top left cabinet where the Winegard Center is located because if it is it is backwards.....not sure because the dealership says that is not it. Thanks for your reply LewF.

Lew makes a good point about not installing the Sat receiver inside the AV cabinet. I don't know about the Dish receiver but the DirecTV receiver is a space heater, even when off. I did install our DirecTV into the AV cabinet but added a fan that turns on when the cabinet reaches a certain temperature. I had already installed a BlueRay DVD player under the AV cabinet and did not want too many things hung under the cabinet. You can also point a fan toward the open door on the AV cabinet when the sat receiver is in use. However, unless you unplug the sat receiver the cabinet will get very warm.

To specifically answer your question about getting HD to the TV. You can run a HDMI cable from the AV cabinet to the TV. I'm assuming your tv is located center front in the coach. If so, there is a hole in the ABS plastic in the upper right hand corner that kinda sorta allow access to the TV space. 2 methods to run the cable would be to work a cable snake of some sort from the AV cabinet and have someone try to fish it when and if it is seen in the upper road side of the TV cabinet. Another method is finding a cable in the TV area that, when pulled, can be seen from the AV cabinet. Tape the HDMI cable or tape a string on to the cable and see if it will find its way to the AV cabinet. You will need to make sure you have enough slack in the cable to make the journey. Both ways is a real PITA but it can be done with a few rants, raves and cuss words.
