We're getting the tow bar and all the other 'hitch stuff' installed today. They called and said they found a slight problem. Some of the hitch wires had gotten caught up in a fan and were broken. (Pictures to follow).

The irony of it is that the hitch was busted when we purchased the MH (from the dealer we fired). They had to repair the busted hitch but now we're wondering if they did such a lousy job that it resulted in the wires getting caught in the fan. We asked the company installing the hitch to contact Monaco. I don't really know if we have any recourse with the selling dealer (who we fired). Any comments? On our way now to pick up the MH and will check in later. Thanks!

My suspicion is that Monaco will take care of the repair under warranty, if you call them. I would think that this would be especially true if the first repair, done by the initial dealer, is on record with them. (All warranty repairs should be on record with Mmonaco, if the dealer followed proper procedures.)

My suggestion would be to call Monaco, discuss the issue with them, and ask that they cover it.

Thanks Robin, the installer made contact with our contact at Monaco and we are hopeful. And we are home with the MH and toad.

Do you ever get over the wondering? ~~ Wondering if the wheels are turning on the toad?

Yes I do wonder if the wheels are turning.I always worry...until I make the first hard turn. Then I can see the toad in the rear view mirror and tell if the front wheels are following the coach around the turn and I can visually insure all four wheels are turning.

Before I got the cover that obscures it I used to tie a white towel to the steering wheel and I could see it moving in the rear camera display. The new car doesn't have a steering lock so that's moot now.

As long as the tires are not squeeling, the first step is clear. Then comes the question of the released steering wheel. Oh well, only happened once!

Yes, it was a glorious relief to be able to see the Honda at the first left turn. And at every stop I could tilt the camera up and down to check out the CR-V.

Pusherpilot, I'll tie something on the steering wheel so I can see it move. Thanks for the suggestion.

I was more apprehensive about having the toad attached than when I first drove a MH. But it sure is a wonderful feeling to know we are oh-so-close to once again having the freedom to travel this beautiful country.
