Getting on top
I'm a tall guy and have no problem cleaning the sides of my Monaco but i need to get on the top to stop those early morning dew streaks from coming down. I do not have a ladder mounted to the rear so my other option is to lean an extension ladder against some portion of the coach body, but were? I don't want to mar the paint. any suggestions? I was thinking the smaller zip-e-do awning while it's in the retracted position. Yes? No? Thanks, Jim OKC

I bought one of the extendable ladders from Home Depot, use a couple of the canoe transport pads on the ladder and lean it against the Girard style awning enclosure.

Hi Jim! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
How about getting one of the collapsible ladders and padding the sides where it will touch the RV! Keep her between the ditches!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Put the ladder against your awning with a couple of pads so you won't scratch it.

Cut a slit in one of those water noodles and wrap it around the ladder leg

ladder rest.
If you have a metal good fab shop close to you, I built a SS (ladder rest) for a gentleman that was having a bus conversion done. Basically a SS bar Tig welded to a couple stand off pads with some pre-drilled holes for mounting.
He mounted the pads to the top rear of the coach and could use a ladder to rest against the tube. The tube also had a tab on each end of it to prevent the ladder from sliding off the end of the tube if the ladder foot sunk in the ground and moved a little to the side. He seemed to like it.

If your doing this on a regular basis just get and extendable pole with a microfiber pad on the end.
I got one as part of a waterless system from this place:

I like that idea Dan. Seems every time I mention to Connie I need to get on top of the RV, she checks the life insurance policy and says, sure, give it a try. Jim OKC

This is my solution also. Place the extension latter next to the latter affixed to the rear cap. This allows me to use the affixed latter to transition to the top.
Never a problem with my 270 lbs!

Lots of good options suggested thus far, what I might add is that once you clean your roof that perhaps a very thin coat of a commercial floor wax like
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Zep-Comme...&wl13=&veh=sem to keep the chalking to a minimum
Its been a few years since I have done this and still holding up fine.

I'm 73 years old and got tired of ladders and bought a used scissor lift, best thing I ever did for getting on roof, cheaper than broken bones.
