Going from gas back to diesel

Hello,

Just bought 2002 Monaco Windsor 40 PKD with 43000 miles. Coming back to diesel from a 1999 Holiday Rambler Endeavor LE with a V10. I could never get used to the ride in the Holiday Rambler even though I did everything possible to make better. The Monaco drives like the Foretravel U280 I had before the Holiday Rambler. Now you may be saying you went from a Foretravel to a Gas Holiday Rambler...were you . No my wife wanted something with a slide and lower cost. Well here I am 2 years later back to diesel. I work on class 8 trucks so maintenance is not really a problem . I reall like the floor plan and the generator being on a slide out something the U280 did not have. Also the King bed ia a plus. Anything special I should know about this year model.

Thanks
Mark and Charlyn Spies

I own a 2002 Windsor PKD, currently has 107K on it.

Hopefully you got maintenance records with the new coach, if not I'd suggest a complete service to have a good base line. I'd take engine & transmission oil samples along with coolant just to make sure everything is OK.

The coach is solid, full steel cage construction along with the 8 airbag suspension.

Probably the only issue I have with mine is the low CCC, I had a Class C that actually had a higher carrying capacity. This can be managed but still a surprise when I realized how low it was.

Other then that it is a great coach.

Jim,

It will have a fresh service on both engine and generator. Was a local coach out of Magee Ms. One owner.

Jim, you know the drill, check all fluids for their condition, if in doubt dump them and start over, or just do it for a solid base line to start from.
Other than fuel system problems with the lift pumps on the Cummins products in those years you should be good.
Here's the post on the CAPS system

Mark. I have a 2002 as well purchased with just 7800 miles. Had it since Aug last year. We love it!! Very solid coach. I had everything checked and the original tires changed. Belts are next month. Best of luck!!!
