Going to Paso Robles from Orange County
Going to Paso Robles soon
Does everyone agree take the 101 NORTH to the 46 instead of the 5 FWY Going thru the Grapevine?
Or do i Just suck it up the hill pulling my 40ft Knight
only going for 4-5 days.
Thanks

The 101 is a prettier drive, but will take you a bit longer. Traffic up the 101 can be slow, especially through the Santa Barbara area. The 5 North, to the 46 West is a faster drive, if you just want to get into Paso.

Lots of rain coming to the Santa Barbara area right now. 101 may wind up being closed again. Keep an eye on it if you want to go that way, otherwise I-5 to the 46 is the simplest.

Either way you are going to be going up and down mountains.

We prefer the 101, but the traffic can be terrible. Buelton is 30 minutes past Santa Barbara and we find it's a good stop over. Avenue of the flags RV in Buelton is a nice place
As mentioned, rain coming. Likely 101 will close again from the mud slides. If that's the case, you're better heading up the 5 over the grapevine.
