That was quick, clips will be here today but fridge won't be here till next Wednesday.

I looked at the fridge manual on line and unless I missed it there isn't a button to turn it on an off other than pulling the plug. If that's true I might consider adding a switch to accomplish that.

Thanks, Bill. I didn't see that reference. 3 minutes worked fine last night. The manual is probably addressing compressor restart issues; in my case the compressor probably hadn't been running for an hour or more so there was little risk.

For all I know this problem has occurred for me because I have an inverter in the fridge circuit and, as a result, it never has the power turned off and doesn't get to periodically reboot. Maybe if my fridge got turned on off once in a while the normal rebooting of the board would keep this from being noticed. I don't know but I wanted to pass this along to those who might be considering a Samsung or already have one. I wasn't nearly as upset when this happened yesterday as I was the first time I experienced it and didn't know the simple fix for resolving it.
Docj,

This has happened to me only once since installation back in 2012. The freezer temp started to rise for no apparent reason. Thankfully, I have remote temp sensors in each compartment. I tripped the circuit breaker for the fridge, waited 5 -10 minutes and reset the CB. It has been fine ever since. In fact I did a thread on the event HERE.

At least now I know what to do if it happens again.

Actually, there is a way to turn off the cooling function but all of the lights still work. That's what stores do when they have it on display. If you have a circuit breaker panel, you can simply use the one for the fridge circuit instead of adding another switch to the circuit which is one more failure point.

Duh. Never thought about the circuit breaker for the fridge. Thanks
