Wanted to pass on a good wervice report. We needed to have the left rear jack on our 04 HR Imperial, it has been leaking for years now and the opportunity to get it done with a minimum of inconvenience was at hand. We are in a CG in Menniffee Ca and the jack mfgr, RVA, is in Escondido about 50 miles away.
I called and made arrangements to drop off the jack, they agreed to do the job in one day, we went to the Wild Animal Park. On the way back we picked up the rebuilt jack. The owner, Dennis Kay, gave us new nylon spacers and a replacement bolt for one we destroyed removing the jack from the coach. Cost to rebuild the jack was $205. Dennis told me that many Monaco owners with the three point system are fixing their leaky or malfunctioning jacks now because the aren't able to upgrade to a new coach like they used to and their coaches are getting long in the tooth. He was convinced that the scoring on the ram on our jack was due to dirt in the system when it was originally assembled, judging from what I've seen in other areas on the coach I agree. Removing the jack was a real bear , Monaco undercoats everything and the jack is no exception, getting the hardware off was impossible in the case of one bold and we had to grind it off. Dennis provided new hardware for us at cost and new nylon spacers too. He gave me many tips and a drawing of how the jack pad attaches and the way to re-install it.
Good fast service at a reasonable price, now all I need do is get the stepson/mechanic back to re-install it!!
Ron
OBTW, I had quotes from other shops to remove, repair, and reinstall that jack that exceeded $1200. If you have a good mech that'll remove and reinstall it you'll be money ahead.
