green light above TV
Hello, and thanks for having me.
I searched the forums but when I put in green light I get about 100 pages.
I'll be picking up a Monaco Camelot FKQ this week and I have read the manual cover to cover and I haven't found what the little green light is above the TV. It is in the wood cabinet face near the ceiling. I see it in other same models for sale so I assume it is not the OP add on. Assuming something for the satellite or antenna?, but you know what they say about assuming.
Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the indicator light for the antenna signal amplifier. The amplifier is a 12v drain on your batteries, shouldn't be left on when TV not in use. The amplifier also will interfere with cable or satellite signals, so turn it off when using campground cable.
Perhaps the above will help you look in the proper section of your owner's manual or other literature to see how to turn it on and off. My RV has a cover box that has a coax cable out and a slide switch to turn it off.

Could it be your antenna over the air amplifier?
Is there a on/off button?

Thank You, I thought it might be the amplifier as I did read that elsewhere that there was a light on the switch for it. They may have placed it somewhere it could be easily seen.

Sounds like amplifier booster for over the air antenna. ON you will see light, OFF when on satellite or cable from shore. Keep off when not in use.

If none of the above answer your question, take a picture of this light and post that.

It could be your IR pickup for the TV. I have one for the front TV and DVD and one for the bedroom TV and DVD. I added another IR receiver for my Direct TV box.
Round sensor about 1/2" diameter? That would be it.

I would be more inclined to believe the I/R Remote extender pickup.
In many RV's there are electrioncs enclosed in cabinets, these may include Sat Receivers, House Radios, DVD players and more also the Trim on the TV install may cover the TV's I/R Sensor so the remote won't remote.
Thus they install an I/R Reomte extender. this is a box often with a GREEN light, and an IR sensor window. you aim for it and it "Chats" with another box (more of a cube) somewhere elsre, off there there are 1,2 or 4 leads that end in I/R Emitters (Like in the remote) one in front of the TV's sensor (if covered) one where the Sat Receiver can see it, one for DVD and possibly one for Radio or other I/R controlled hardware, Even some antenna/source switches are I/R swith selectasble now days.
On my coach the compartments with those devices are glass covered Smoked that is trtansparant to I/R.
But in the house I used to have.. Well I'd hang out in the basement and eatch recorded TV from upstairs, controlling ther Recorder via an I/R Remote.
