Guardian Plates - Could Use Some Help

Hi Folks!

Just wondering if there are still people here that have some experience with Guardian Plates?

I need to order a set for my 2000 Monaco Diplomat and have some questions, probably all simple, as I need to get my order in sooner rather than later.

If there's anyone here familiar with them, please reply!

Bob-

Post your questions, and those of us who have installed Guardian Plates can try to answer them.

Chris Throgmartin, the guy who makes the plates, can answer your questions, I bet.

Also, there are four videos on youtube that give very precise instructions on what to measure when ordering them, as well as very good step-by-step instructions on how to install them. Just punch in “Guardian Plates” on youtube.

Which slide are you looking at?

I believe all bedroom slides are raised floor slides. Livingroom / kitchen slides could be raised, or flush floor.

You'll need to look under the cabinets or from outside try pulling the weather strip around the slide away enough to look in.

my flush floor (left front slide) is a flush floor. It has plastic blocks that the slide goes in and out on. No rollers. All 3 other slides are on rollers (either mounted on the slide or the coach). Each guardian plate measure procedure is a little different for each one. It does help to have 2 people measure however.

Bob, I installed the plates on my bedroom slides a few months ago. I spent a lot of time watching, and re watching the various videos. They are a tremendous help ! I did the install by myself, no helper, and it wasn’t a problem. If you have average mechanical skills, you shouldn’t have a problem. I totally agree with Mike, Zmotorsports, Buy the rivet gun Talon sells !! It works great and will make the job easier!!

Thanks everyone, I'm still having issues getting past first base. Not worried about the install, worried about ordering the right stuff.

So how do you tell if you have raised floors or not? What am I looking for?

Bob, when you call Chris at Taking, he will be able to tell you whether you have the right measurement of not. There are several measurements but he will know if you have the right one because he's done so many he knows what number you should be telling him. At least he did on my 07 Neptune. Call him and he will help you tremendously with what to measure.

The video says if your slide moves in and drops down it’s a flush floor. If it just moves in or out and doesn’t drop it’s a raised floor. The later is common on galley and couch slides.

^^^X2^^^
Watch the slides movement. If it drops down into its final position, it is a flush floor
