Heat strip to ice maker water line

I am trying to keep things from freezing in my '02 Monaco Windsor. All water bays, etc are heated with the exception of the ice maker water line. I am going to put a drop light in behind the fridge. While back there, I noticed the ice maker water line has a heat strip/tape around it with electrical wire attached. Where it goes from there is anyone's guess.

Does anyone know how to activate that heat strip? Does it activate with the water bay heat switch above the passenger seat?

My fridge also has the heat wire , I believe it is activated through a thermal snap disc when the temp gets low enough, and then the wire heats up. It is built into the fridge electronics.......
The heat trace wire runs the length of the ice maker water line, it also should be wrapped around the water solenoid valve and the input line till it goes inside.
