Having just sold our 2001 Diplomat we're looking for a replacement. Loved the Diplomat but would like a few more features. Focusing on Monaco (HR & Beaver). Have about $115K cash, give or take, depending on what the "new" unit needs to be road-ready. We have reserved money for tax in addition to the amount above.
We're looking for something like a well equipped 2002 Windsor or Dynasty or Imperial. No tag axle, 38'-40', two slides, 50K'ish miles, Cummins ISL.
We are looking in the Puget Sound area and are combing all of the usual sources like craigslist, RVT, RVTonline, oodle, etc.
Happy to consider certain Tiffin, Newmar, Alpine models that are close to the above in specs.
TIA,

Dave -- Try DeMartini RV Sales in Grass Valley CA -- They usually have the best prices & good selection -- If you call them, work with Jon DeMartini -- They have a good web site - If you do go to another brand of coach, stay in touch with us -- Bill Willard

Good to hear from you Bill. We stopped there last March and talked to Jay Griffin and Jon DeMartini. At that time we were in the position of having to trade in the old coach. Since that was a more expensive proposition we passed. Both Jon and Jay tried hard though to make something work. Thanks for the reminder, I will give them a call.
I sure will stay in touch. I hope the Monaco folks will let us into the circle of wagons at Q even if we show up in SOB.

Glad you got the Dip sold, Dave. I've been seeing it on Craigslist. It seems you are looking in all the right places. We have also been looking for a different coach and just haven't found the right one yet. Searching all the same resources as you, we see maybe 2-3 new ones each week. Hang in there, but I know it's prime RV'ing time. Well, maybe if it would quit raining...

We were in your neighborhood yesterday, Phil. Looked at a 2004 Allegro Bus in Enumclaw. All the bells and whistles, really nice owners, but it did not excite us. I think we'll stick to Monaco products. Looked at a 2002 Dynasty and 2005 Endeavor at Poulsbo RV in Kent. Both were rough.
Good luck in your search!

Check with Fife RV in Gig Harbor. Not sure what exactly they have, but they have a lot of coaches sitting on their lot.

Thanks, BigV and R&J,
We're sticking with the original criteria in the Puget Sound area until it drys up. There are still lots of coaches out there. BTW: I did check with Fife RV and they did have one possibility but it was on consignment and the owner decided to take it off the market.
Here's one in Olympia:
2002 Windsor
The link will expire in a few days. I'd like to take a look at this one but the outfit listing it does not inspire confidence. I'm not driving 200+ miles to talk to a... well let's just say a not very well informed individual. It too is a consignment.
Thanks again guys,

Hey Dave, did you see this one?
2005 Monaco Diplomat 38ft Diesel Pusher
It's a 2005 Diplomat but man, it sure seems to have everything a guy could want! Says it's in Tacoma.

Thanks, Mike. Yes claz.org is one of the handy ones. Did learn of a new one called jaxed.com which actually links to craigslist ads.

Thanks, Phil. Yes, it's been out there for awhile. Your note prompted me to call today. I spoke with Brian who patiently answered a few dozen questions. As a result it's going on the short list.
Thanks to all who are offering suggestions. I've got the various lists pretty well covered. Would sure like to hear about any private party sales in the Puget Sound area not on the more popular lists.
Thanks again,
