In our new 2012 Monaco is a Magnadyne MI-CD radio. Of course it's in the dash. It looks like maybe I can hook up an ipod to play through the radio but I don't see how. I tried using a USB cable but it didn't play my music. Maybe I'm missing a step or need additional wiring. The thing is we go many places where the radio doesn't work and I get tired of putting CD's in. So is there a way to use my ipod?

If you have a 2012 model RV it would almost certainly have a radio with an auxiliary input. It would look like a small hole that headphones or a mic would fit in. This is the standard way to directly hook your iPod to the radio, and you should have an aux button on the radio.

With the Magnadyne M1-CD you have two choices for connecting your iPOD.
1) Using the 3.5 mm Aux In connection on the front of the M1-CD (Circled in red in the picture below.
You will need a cable with 2 male 3.5 mm ends. One inserted into your iPod head phone jack and the other end connected to AUX In on the front of the radio. The cable ends should look like this picture.
Once connected press the mode button on the M1 to select Aux Frt.
Using this method the iPod is controlled from the iPod
2) Using this cable connect your iPod through the rear and use the M1-CD to control the iPod. https://recreationnation.me/drupal/c...nect-connector
This will allow you to control the iPod from the raido.
The attached pdf file is from my M1-CD manual and shows the connection on the rear.
I just replaced my M1-CD with the M1-LCD. If you need a second M1-CD let me know I'll make you a deal

Yes, the M1-CD is 1.5 the M1-LCD is 2 din. In replacing the CD with the LCD I noticed the face of the LCD hangs down a bit lower on the dash. I'm not a good one to judge sound quality, I have a bit of hearing loss. But it sounds good to me, I just turn it up a bit louder than most would.

Thanks for all your help. Since you replaced your radio I am thinking you can answer another question for me concerning the radio magnadyne M1-CD. Is it easy to hook the cable to the back of the radio for the ipod? According to the book, if the ipod is connected through the back cable then the M1-CD will control the Ipod. If I use the auxiliary jack in front it will only control the sound. Of course I don't have either cable yet. Thanks again
On my 2008 Bounder the aux input to the radio looks like a 12V outlet with a rubber cover over it. It's even mounted below and between the 2 12V outlets. I thought it was a 12V outlet until I removed the cover and tried to plug into it.

Slide the keys into the side of the radio to pull it out. There is a short piece of cable hanging off the back of the radio. The iPod connector cable plugs in to the end of this cable. It takes less than 5 minutes very simple to do. I wrapped the connection with tape to prevent it from disconnecting should someone pull to hard on the iPod connector.
