Please help us find a Trace Engineering Legend Series #1 Model L1512 1500 Watt 13 Amps Inverter. Not sure if they are still made, but if you have any idea about this, your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I about to replace mine with a newer pure sine wave inverter. You want the Trace Legend I inverter / charger?

Thank you for your reply. We have decided to replace ours with a Freedom HF 1800.

Sorry but the Ledgend is no longer made. You will have to install an newer inverter.
Things to consider in the differences in what you have and the newer type:
The Ledgend had two circuit breakers, one for each of the AC circuits into the coach. The newer type may not have these circuit breakers on the output side. If not you will have to add a sub-panel with the breakers between the inverter and the coach circuits. THIS IS A MUST.
The Ledgend had an internal 30-amp transfer capability. It had two AC output circuits. The newer inverter may have the same or may have a 50-amp capability and if so, would have two AC output circuits. If you install the 50-amp type, then only use the AC 1 output to connect all your coach circuits but through two separate breakers.
I doubt you will find a plug and play inverter to replace the Ledgend but the changes in wiring are easy to do.
You may have to replace the remote also so check on this BEFORE you buy a new inverter. The cable between the remote and new inverter should work fine. The new remote may be just a little larger requiring a bit of cabinet modification that you can easily do.

Opps, looks like the Xantrex 1800 will not work because we have the two output circuits, and the new one did not. gcampbell I might be interested in yours, can you PM me, or send me you #. Thanks.

I am replacing my old legend with a new Xantrex freedom sw 2000. I have run across what you mention. I'm aware that I should introduce a subpanel and divide the one AC source output into two. Each branch probably should be 20 amps each like the original Legend. Except.. the ouput of the xantrex has only one output of 20 amps max from the inverter. Its funny because its a 2000 watt inverter and the legend was only 1500 watts. What gives? The old legend has two 20 amp breakers totaling 40 amp output. I don't think so.
Im puzzled.

True the Legend had two 20-amp output circuit breakers, however the input to it was only 30-amps total so you could easily pop one of the two breakers on the Legend. You will find the same thing with the inverter you plan on using. Yes you will still need a sub panel. Your microwave will pull about 15-amps on start-up. If you have an electric heater or hair dryer running at the same time, it will overload the circuit and pop the breaker.

Lets not forget the draw on the 12 volt side; 40 amps on the ac side Equals 400 amps; on the DC with out any allowance for internal Resistance;; That my friend is a lot of DC to be taking out of any battery;;
