Help No jake brake or cruise control

Just purchased an 04 signature 42' with tag only 35k miles in near perfect condition it has the Detroit 60 on it and runs great, we took our first trip in it and everything worked great until our return trip home when I noticed my cruise control sopped working as well as my jake brake. I took it to the dealer we bought it from and they sent it out to a company that works on the Detroit motors they gave up said it was an electrical thing and without schematics they could not trace it down dealer said they don't no what to do since Monaco is out so we are stuck any ideas ? I might add this is our second sig. and we really love these coaches would sure love to have this fixed...

Mike Canter will probably post some specifics since his coach is close to yours. Monaco is not out. They have been through 2 ownership changes since your coach was build but they will most certainly give you troubleshooting help. I'm sure they have a data card/build sheet on out coach and you should request one from them if you don't have it.

thanks for the info again these are great coaches but the amount of wiring involved is amaizing thankfully these guys gave up trying to blindly chase this before it cost a small fortune...

If you have the operating manuals there are wiring schematics in the back of the book.

If you don't have the manual you can download here

however the electrical schematics may not be in the PDF file.

or 800-450-6336

Have your VIN, also ask for the Data Card and MSRP for the coach. The Data card will have a list of all the main components with Manf, Model, SN, which comes in handy when you are looking for parts or repair info.

Twhite, I had that happen to my 2004 Signature and it took me a while to figure it out. My Detroit ECM was shorting out because it had engine coolant in it leaking down from the coolant level sensor. It was hard to believe but then I found Monaco had a a notice on it. Go to the black rectangular coolant header tank that is on the drivers side of the engine and has a sight glass on it. On the engine side of that tank about 2/3rds the way down is the coolant level sensor. Check with a flashlight to see if it is brass or black in color. If black then pull the plug off and stick your little finger into the sensor plug and see if it comes out wet. That black sensor is plastic and cracks and leeks coolant down that plug and wicks down inside that two wire harness to the engine ECM. let me know what you find out and we can go from there. Also sent you a safety recall on the Detroit which you should make sure has been done. It is a free software update that stops the turbo from coming apart and catching on fire

Not yet it is still in the shop supposedly they will have it done this week they assured me they will have all the issues taken care hopefully this is the case
