Help, Safari Shopping
I hope this is an appropriate place to ask (plead to help) regarding Safari Motorhomes. If not, I have my Nomex Undies on.
My wife & I are pretty much settled on a mid to late 1990's Safari Diesel Pusher Motorhome in the 38 to 40 foot range. We are not new to RV's and diesels since we have a truck camper and a Powerstroke truck. We really like the Safari's layouts, fit, and function, and do not want a slide out version. Plus we are getting to that "Age" when comfort and room are becoming very important. I have been trying to educate myself, especially with the Chassis (Magnum) and the two different motor options, Cummins 8.3 and the Cat's (not that familar with Cat's), especially in the 1994's thru 1998's. What was the "Standard" engines in those years and what were the "Options?" Also, the Safari's seem to be in Serengetis and Continentials, what are the differences, if any, or significant? It is my understanding that when using the NADA Book to determine "Used Values", you only check those items that were truely "Optional" when new and not standard. That is were I get confused. It seems that the Safai's all seemed to come pretty loaded with very few options, am I right, or what were some of the options? I've tried to use the web to determine "Options" back then but have not found any info, so please educate me.
