OK. Now that DW and I have gone out on our first little adventure(just an overnighter) Time to start getting this MH ready for real use.
My coach is a 1999 LaPalma, gas. It did not come with any sewer lines at all so I am on my way to camping World(nearby) to get some of the stuff I need. Not sure if I need something special to hook to the drain or what.

First, what exactly am I going to need and secondly, how do I do it? Does this stuff need to be purchased at Camping World(or similar) or can I get it at someplace cheaper like walmart? The guy told me how at delivery but he went through it pretty darn fast. I know I can figure it out but was hoping the kind folks here could offer tips and techniques to do the best job with the least muss and fuss.

Thanks

You can get the hoses from CW, WM or any place that sells RV supplies. We've had excellent results using the Valterra EZ Coupler hoses. The hoses are good quality & the connectors are easy to connect (twist lok) & don't leak. Get the main kit & several lengths with connectors so you can be sure to reach no matter how far the dump outlet is.

Also, HERE's a link to a previous thread discussing drain hoses.

Once you choose your hose I just bought rhino hose haven't tried it yet thought it was neat since your new to this is case you don't know don't leave your black valve open it drains off water and what do you think is left that's right a mess if you can drain at the same time grey flushes your hose black first close then grey.

If you are going to CW for the first time after purchasing a new coach, take about $500. Be sure and get a pressure regulator for your water hose, at least 50' of fresh water hose, and a filter for it. 20' of sewer hose will get most situations. You need a mat for the front door, bigger is better, to keep the dust out and about a hundred of things that will make their need known. Welcome to a great life!

Don't forget to flush your new water filter BEFORE you hook it to the coach, otherwise you'll get charcoal in the tank or lines. As long as you at Wally world. Get a nice plastic storage basket, can of spray silicone(kind that dries after spraying) a box of nice smelling fabric softener sheets to put individual sheets in each under belly cabinet to keep the rodents out. Many more things that I can't see in my mind right now.

What new water filter? Where's the water filter? I haven't seen or heard about that before.
Only made it to WM today. Got the sewer hose and a bunch of other little things. I know that trip to CW will be a spendy one. Sure there's a hundred things there that I'm gonna have to have.
Thanks

It's light blue or white filter that connects on the fresh water hose between the rig and camp ground water supply. ($15-20) DW won't drink from the rig unless the water filter in on or was used to fill the tank. Rocky mountain spring water upbringing. Did'nt have the heart to tell her the rocky mountain water is filled with fish pee. Still tastes good though.. We have had some pretty bad smelling/testing water at some campgrounds. Heres a link: Walmart.com: Camco Water Filter with Hose: Automotive

Did I say $500, I meant $1,000. Four folding chairs; the ones with the shelf on the side. Baby Q BBQ. Propane tank. Wine glasses, wine, wine opener, windshield washer pole, and indoor rugs.

At $3,000, consider solar panels and controller, RO water unit, 50 amp surge controller, and better fire extinguishers. Start a sinking fund for new tires in 3-4 years. (Check manufacture date on sidewalk).

This life style is totally worth it.

Yes, those universal 'in-line' filters are the best. I was at Camping World a couple of days ago, they were too expensive. Wal-Mart has them in a two pack for $15.00-$20.00.

Check under your kitchen sink, make sure there isn't a filter mounted up in there. My coach was made with an Everpure filter under the sink, which is very proprietary, only available from Camping World, or online, and VERY EXPENSIVE. The new universal 'in line' filters are just as good, or better, so I bypassed that filter.

If not a Camping world club member then join for the ten per cent discount. Join in he store as it is usually a few dollars cheaper. Can pay for membership in short order.

Camping world has lots of great stuff but most non specialty items are far cheaper at Walmart, Walgreens alco, etc.. I would save your cash and get the savings where you can. You get the most durable and comfortable camp chairs, don't be cheap with these you will thank yourself for buying the good ones every time you sit down

I do have a lot of the items mentioned above already. I did have an older class c until I got this.
As far as the shopping trip to cw, I know I'll spend a lot and don't care, as long as I get this baby ultimately comfortable.
My priorities are tv's, satellite, internet right now. Within the next month Steering satabilizer, shocks and airbags. Next up after that will be power and then solar/inverter system. Won't be able to do all of this right away but most of it I have already set aside for. Have appointment this week for 4 new tires, my steering tires are 08's and are like new as far as the tread is concerned. May take the coach and head up to Brazels today and get estimates (and appointment)for shocks/bags/steering and power.
