the cabinets are screwed to the wall and ceiling. You have to remove the inner "skin" on the inside of the cabinet (bottom, top and sides) to see where the screws are. The screws can be really hard to back out from the corrosion over the years.

You'll never pry them down without destroying them so dont get frustrated.

Are you talking about the vinyl panel that covers the bottom of the cabinets that are directly over the dash?

If so, on a 2000 Dynasty with a windshield curtain rail you don't remove the cabinets to remove that panel. If this is what you are talking about let me know and I'll post some pictures. I disassembled my headline to install MCD shades.

OK, makes sense now. My headliner material in that area is a white low pile carpet material.

I'll give you my 2 centavos, for want that's worth... taking down the cabinets is going to be a significant effort considering the problem you are trying to solve. If you are able to do some reasonable woodwork it should be a relatively simple project to make 2 bezels for the front speakers that is wide enough to cover the problem. Either make it out of the same type of wood as your interior and finish it to match or just clear pine painted to match the headliner color.

Good luck...
