Holiday Rambler 40PBT Laminate floor install

I had some pictures up on a thread showing our process of gutting our new to us 2002 Holiday Rambler 40pbt. We have finished the floors and I was able to get the level floor slide done only as an engineer would be able to. It came out awesome. We ordered couches from Discount Van Truck and the couches are great and nicely built but I would not say they have good customer service, no return calls they didn't know if it shipped or not but the product is good and the price was decent too. We decided to go with two couches that have a removable arm in the center to accommodate someone over 6 feet tall to be able to lay down. This is in the slide and both fold down to beds. We also bought this great table that I can shorten and it has drop leafs on it and a bench seat that can be used as an ottoman. Check it out we love it and cannot wait to take our first trip. I am off to back surgery tomorrow so we finished it just in time. Check out the pictures. The whole change cost under 3,000.00 and many many hours of labor. My wife and I absolutely love it. We wanted it to be usable, we don't understand why some of these manufacturers put couches and chairs in rv's that don't look good and don't work as a place to live.

The only thing missing now, Jimmy is an entertainment center on the wall opposite the couches. The large flat screen TV would raise up and cover the window opening whenever you are watching TV!

Jimmy,
Awesome job. Really looks great. We tore out the carpet about a year and the best decision we ever make. Much easier to keep up with. We also ran a carpet runner up the middle to keep the dog tracks of the flooring.

We remove the POS love seat and replace it with a Euro recliner. The love seat was the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I have ever set on. Maybe someday get rid of the original coach and relocate the TV to a pop up across from the coach. Don't like the TV in the front but spent a lot of $$ installing a 32" up front. Next one will be a 37 or 42 where the old love seat was, built in to a custom cabinet with computer table and countertop

Good job and you should be proud of what you have done.

Very nice job on the floors! And I don't think I have ever seen that much couch space in an rv!! Like the above post asks, will there be a flat screen in the future?

Awesome job

I've just finished with back surgery, recovery taking longer than expected so I'm way behind the spring chores.

Thanks everyone, I just got home from the hospital yesterday had a three level lumbar fusion where they removed the discs and put cages in and screwed it all together with titanium rods. The most Painfull thing I have ever done. Pain is still not under control. Been battling back problems for years from cervical to lumbar 12 bad discs. These pushed too far into the spinal column though and started losing leg control at 43 it sucks.

That is why I needed to work so hard with my great wife to get the RV done before I went into the hospital cause I am not going to be able to do anything for quite some time. We do have plans to get rid of the heavy tube tv and install a large flat screen where it is comfy to sit on the couch and see it. I already have in motion sat so that is already set. I love the flooring and had to do a lot of playing around with the flat floor slide to make it work but it seems ok. Both couches fold flat and are made very nicely. We also plan to rip out the shower and install a shower insert that will be 34 deep by 48 wide with regular sliding doors. The plan is to teach our Boston Terriors to pee in the shower when they need to go and it will be a lot larger and easier to get in and out of. Just have to figure out the drain since it is about 5 inches above the floor.

Jim
