First, I've search the entire web site and can't find an answer to my question, so forgive this posting if I missed it.
Our 09 Cayman 35 SPD was vandalized the other night and they got the RCA RTD-258 Home Theater Receiver/DVD and bedroom DVD. I have no manuals or paperwork for any of the Home Theater system so no connection diagrams. Dealer says "just go buy any new unit off the shelf". Unfortunately I can't find a "new receiver" that has a 12 pin molex connector on the back. I have to assume, this connector was connected to the back of the receiver, and it appears to trace back to a River Park Switching System".......whatever that is and does(?) Most of the disconnected cables are logical (audio/video/HDMI).............but there's also this molex connector, a 12 volt connection which I assume powers the River Park Switcher, and a Buffalo Electronics IR-100 Infra-red sensor.
Does anyone have one of these River Park Switchers and can reach in back of their receiver and see how it's connected? There may have been some adapter that was taken with the unit(?) I have received no reply either from RCA or River Park :( I sure don't want to have to rewire the entire coach.
Thank you

If you want the wiring diagram for the River Park switcher go here http://www.riverparkinc.com/techpdf/6CHXOV-01WD.png
If you want the manual for the RTD-258 I sent you an email as I have it in Adobe and don't know how to attach it here.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune in regards to stolen property.
I had a failure of the RCA system about a year after we purchased our coach. I found a Sony 6 disc system at Costco which fit into the area where the RCA unit was installed. Works a 100 percent better. One word of caution. You need to measure the area you put the new receiver in to insure the doors will close.
As for the Molex connector, if you are going to do the work yourself, Radio Shack has them as well as multiple on line sources. The Molex will not mate up to any replacement home theater system you get. The connections to the River Park system is for the multiplexing of the speakers for radio or home theater. It is located in my unit right above the drivers seat in the elongated storage area.
You will have to have someone wire the Molex connector per the diagram previously posted. This requires a pin insert tool to make up the system. Can purchase at big box stores or Radio Shack for reasonable price.
Hope this helps a little and I found out the hard way about the River Park system as our Home Theater was all messed up from Monaco and it took me 3 days to sort our all the wiring errors but works great now.
Best Regards

Thanks so much for your sympathy and the info Lash. And my hats off to you if you figured out the wireing!..........sheesh :( Just one question before I go research the wiring diagram from bdepreece: So you are saying that the 12 pin Molex connector was actually and in fact connected to the back of the RCA System?..........and not "reduced down" via an adapter to less connections or something? I ask this because I was just about convinced this molex was never actually connected to the home theater system but was something to be used as part of the "Satellite Ready" setup (which I don't have). Dbepreece says his owners manual for the RCA RTD-258 receiver does not show a 12 pin molex connection :( Hence, I guess I can't make life easier by just going and buying another RTD-258 and plugging it in :( Anyway, thanks again for your help. Any information is always helpful and much appreciated

Jpat;
The 12 pin molex connector is not connected directly to the back of the RCA unit. The wires coming from the speaker connections for the Home Theater are actually tied to the 12 pin molex (male or female end) which is between the RCA unit and the River Park unit. Then the opposite side of the molex goes to the River Park system which is a box about 12 inches by 12 inches mounted over the drivers seat in the cabinet area. Just follow the color codes given on the drawing and you should be fine.
Also, just as an FYI, this connection has nothing to do with the satellite prewire.
Hopefully this post makes some sense. If not let me know if there are more questions.
Best Regards

Sorry to hear about your loss.
I would suggest that you contact River Park about a replacement. I had to replace our system in Dec 2007 and they were able to sell me a remanufactured unit that has worked well and they were very helpful in getting it wired correctly.

Ahhh........thanks so much guys for all your assistance. Yes Lash, it dawned on me this morning whats going on with the wire adapter (duh)........ I was thinking too simplistically, hopeing for a quick fix so I could get back to the other issues I'm having with this coach. I'll just have to trace out the wiring code and make up a new connector.
Thanks Pabrandt, good to know River Park deals/sells the actual units if I decide to go that route. At least, doing this reinstall, may help me find the bad connection to the bedroom TV when hooked up to cable. It works fine off the roof antenna. Fortunately, bdpreece sent me the RTD Manual to help with the other connections I have yet to identify. Thanks again guys, you're super

The bad cable connection is going to be in the overhead compartment that contains the switcher. There should only be one cable that runs to the tv from the front. There may be a second cable for a sat feed to a panel located near the rear tv, at least that is the way it is in our coach. I rewired my audio after discovering that two of the speakers in the coach did not work properly. One was in the bedroom and one in the living area. I traced everything out with a tone generator and an inductive probe. I discovered that a wire was loose where it connected to the back of the dash radio at the left rear position. The molex plug you are referring to can be completley bypassed but you would need some inline couplers and a crimp tool to do it correctly. I bypassed one in my previous coach when I replaced the dash radio. Just keep a written note of the colors on both sides of the connection....which goes to which. It isn't hard to get rid of it. If you want to keep it just cut off the wires going to the RCA after noting were they go....use the the couplers to lengthen them and then reconnect to the new unit. That way you do not have to rewire the molex plug....it serves no other real purpose than being a quick disconnect or should I say connection when the systems were originally installed.
(I used to do tv station and remote production truck wiring....these devices were installed to absorb movement and to make it easier to remove or replace when you can't get to the back of things)

Thanks Gramps for your input and jogging my old, dead thought processes I spent 36 yrs in Television Broadcasting...........4 of which were designing, building and operating mobile production units. The difference was, "I" was creating the nightmare rather than trying to trace someone else's out........lol With the help of my fellow RV'ers (above), I've got a handle on the audio situation, and will do a clean re-install of the new system with a new quick disconnect (for the next owner). As far as my video problem to the bedroom TV, for the life of me, I can't trace the cable input from the back of the coach to where ever it splits :( In my Coach Paperwork, I have a single sheet that shows a Magnadyne Video Switcher, but I've yet to find out where they put it (if I have one).
If you have no objections, I will PM you with a little more dialog on this, so as not too
bore the good folks reading this thread any more than necessary. thanks again for everyone's input......much appreciated.
