Homer Hawk's BrakeSwitch wiring

When we got our Endeavor new in '06, I installed his BrakeSwitch. Took many many calls/emails with him to get it to work with my wiring - seems there was 'a few' factory wiring changes that were evidently not documented by Monaco, and it took forever to get it to work correctly. But when it did work, it was great. I do miss it.

When the Endeavor got totaled, I managed to salvage the switch/wiring/etc. However, I don't have any instructions anymore (amazing what a hurricane can destroy), and am at somewhat of a loss as to what goes where/how to install it in our new '08 Camelot.

I tried contacting him, but no joy.

I am aware that Cummins can 'probably' re-program the ECU to do the same/similar, but wanted to check this way first since I'm comfortable with its operation.

Anyone have a wiring diagram for the BrakeSwitch? Or anything?

Homer closed is business a few years ago and stop producing the brakeswitch. I installed one on our coach and love it. Somewhere I have some information but have not found it yet. We are on the road and if the information is not in the motorhome or on this computer it will some time before we can locate it.

Thanks, Bob. Any help is appreciated.

I do remember that I had marked up his instructions after I got mine to work, but they're gone now and I don't recall the details. It wasn't a lot of changes, but just enough to make me pause before I attempt to tackle it again.

Lots of potential places (and always expensive) where smoke could be released if I guess wrong!

Rusty, I found the folder here in the motorhome but do not have a scanner with me. Got some photos with my phone and will post them as soon as possible.

Rusty,

Here is a PDF file I put together this morning of the pages in my Brakeswitch folder. I apologize for the poor quality but did the best with what was available. Someday when we get back home will scan the pages and produce a better document.

Hope this is what you need.

Bob

Absolutely AWESOME, Bob. That is terrific.

I appreciate the effort it took for you to find the info, and especially for snapping all those pics.

I usually keep a pretty formidable library of manuals, drawings, scribbled changes, etc, with me in the coach, either on paper or electronic. Didn't get a chance to remove anything before the coach got flooded, tho. All gone.

But, thanks to the great folks (like you) on here, I'm slowly building back up again. And it's a comforting feeling. I had a prof back in school that said "We didn't have to know everything there is about a subject, but it's just as good if we knew where to find it". And that was before the Internet!
