House Batteries

I have an 01 Dynasty and need new house batteries...4 inline 6V...any suggestions for brand/part number?????

You should receive a wide variety of responses. It has always been a mixture of opinions when this question comes up. You may want to try a search for other threads and posts to see what had been discussed before.

I for one have replaced the original 4-6V batteries with the same brand and size, Interstate U2200. I had good luck with the original ones so I gave them another shot. Doesn't mean I won't have problems this go around. The original batteries were installed sometime around spring to early summertime of 2001. They were replaced in January 2008, almost 7 years of use and that was with low quality maintenance as I didn't pay much attention to them. I am spending more time to my batteries this time keeping the level up to where it's supposed to be instead of letting the liquid go below the plates too often. I hope to have them a long time.

Once you have read through all of the opinions, than you will need to make your own judgment.

Sam's Club is selling Energizer GC-2 6 volt lead acid 220 amp batteries for $74 each. The cheapest I have seen Interstate U2200 batteries is $103. Both the Energizer and the Interstate battery are made by the same company.

the best price I have found on the U2200's is $128.95....I'll check out Sam's Club....the current batteries only lasted 3 1/2 years...they were installed by the dealer when I bought the MH...No name cheapies!

If you you are looking to buy the interstate batteries look at the U2400. They are the same size as the U2200 but with more amp hours. Not much more cost. Bought mine six weeks ago and have already forgot what the price. Dam sometimers.

I just called my favorite NAPA Store and I can get the 8146 in quantities of one at $129.98 and in quantities of 4 he will come down to $116.56 each. That battery has a 24 month 100% replacement and a 84 month pro-rated replacement which is real good. It is still $40 more that the Sam's Club battery with 12 months 100% replacement.

I see many threads that basically ask the same question

My suggestion is the Sam's or Costco Golf Car batteries (six volt) for reasons I will outline

Trojan Flooded Wet Cells: Absolutly the best, also the most expensive, Question are they THAT MUCH BETTER that they are worth the higher price? (NO)

Lifeline AGM... Read what I said about Trojan

Optima AGM.. 75% battery 25% air (less capicity per cubic foot) more expensive

Now, we get to Flooded wet/AGM

AGM's are again more expensive, however they are maintenace free, for some this may justify the additional cost, for me.. it does not.
