I'm in the process of re-taping and re-caulking all the seams, skylight and other places the factory sealed on the roof of my 38' 2006 Endeavor and was wondering if anyone had an idea of how much Dicor sealant it would take. I've already got the sealant tape, but how many tubes of caulk has got me scratching my head. Maybe that's why I've got no hair up there.

Anyone that has done this, how much did you use? Just the little bit I did today suggests that it will take at least a dozen or more tubes. We're fulltimers and are going to soon be heading off into the middle of nowhere, so I need to stock up before we leave the Salt Lake City area.

Any help will be appreciated.

Also, I figure most of it is self leveling, but should I get some non-sag for doing over the edges of the roof at the endcap seams, or is the tape enough?

I've got a leak into the rear inverter compartment that has plagued us since the coach was new. The old Monaco Service Centers were never able to fix it, and with bubbles galore in the caulk, I figure it is probably past time to do this job.

Sorry BaldOldBald but the only experience I had was on ou '08 Cayman where I had to use the caulk on a roof vent where the tape was lifting. Don't recall I had to use much. However you do have to be careful in not letting the caulk run and be sure it has set up before driving off!
Our previous coach, an 05 Windsor did have the problem where the factory did not use caulk around the tape on the shower skylight. The result was we did have a leak in the roof and down into the interior walls of the coach! Don't rely only on the tape!

I used one caulking tube of dicor self leveling lap sealant around the shower skylight earlier this week. Since nothing else was leaking yet that is the only one I did.

I have a 34 foot '02 endeavor and it took me 6 or 7 tubes to re-seal everything - front and rear cap seams, shower skylight, toilet vent, 3 roof vents, horn, and 3 antennas. This is with the aluminum roof - if you have the fiberglass roof, you may need more or less.

Suggestion: For getting the old stuff off, go to you local hardware store and get several of those cheap 2 inch wide plastic putty knives. You'll break a couple, but they're sharp enough and stiff enough to get under the old dicor and lift it up, but not strong enough to put a hole in the roof itself (they'll break instead, thus the value of spares).
