How to set AGS so AquaHot heats coach in open storage?

My coach is in open storage in Michigan, with no electric hookup. Tonight we are expecting freezing temps. I want the AH to keep coach warm to prevent freeze up. We leave for warmer climes next week, so don’t want to winterize.

The AH went into low voltage fault last night and the night before, so no heating occurred. The generator did not run the last two nights either, but the AGS Controller was set at 11 volts and the Remote panel showed 11.3 volts when I checked it this morning.

This morning I changed the voltage setting at the AGS Controller Start Volts DC to 12 volts, in the hope that this would prevent the AH from shutting down with a low voltage fault. Apparently the AQ goes into low voltage fault before 11 volts. Will it go into low voltage fault at 12 volts?

The Remote is set at Enable and Quiet Time setting is off.

My diesel tank is full.

My AQ diesel switch is on and my thermostat is set at Furnace 55 degrees for all zones.

Any advice is appreciated.

Do you know whether your gen is started with your chassis, or house battery bank? I recently changed mine so the gen gets it's starting power from the chassis batteries.
I would guess setting your controller to 12.0v should work.
I've never had my AH shut down for low volts. Does it need to be reset on the control board if this happens?

Several techs have stated that the AGS should be set for 12.3 volts for max battery life.
11 volts may be too low for the AquaHot and to start the gen set.

I am not sure where the genset gets it's power. It does seem unable to start when house batteries are low. The fault light on the Remote lite up the past two nights. This must have shut down the Inverter which resulted in shutting down the genset and AH.

I believe the AH needs at least 12 volts to operate the diesel burner. So when the volts went below 12, it went into low voltage fault. I merely reset it with a paper clip and it fired up immediately, after getting the gen running.

Think I have my AGS set at 11.8 or 11.9v

I know the AH will keep running at those voltages.

Without full confidence in the AGS I would just start the gen and let it run all night

It will not hurt the gen to run , that seems to be when they do their best .

Frozen pipes will wreck your trip next week .

Play with the AGS later when not so much is at stake .

The 11.3V was probably not under load. Under a load it probably pulled even lower.
Make sure you run the generator and charge the house batteries during the day.

How many and what type of house batteries do you have?

That is good advice and I may do just that. I left the coach a couple hours ago, but plan to go back this evening. I thought I might just spend the night in it, but running the generator all night is an option too. Thanks.

Yeah under load it likely drops. Four lead acid batteries for the house. All are two years old and I recently checked water levels in all cells and all was good. No evidence of battery acid on any of my batteries. Nice an clean.

I know the AGS ran the genset this summer, as I checked the hours meter every time I went to the coach, which was 2-3 times per week. However now I am not sure the AGS is starting the gen, when batteries get low.

Are they 6 volt GC2 golf car batteries, or 12 volt deep cycle batteries?
The reason I ask is the 12v deep cycles just do not hold up well.
