HR Scepter Interior Modifications

Thought some of you may be interested in seeing some basic interior changes my wife and I have been working on with our Scepter.

Nothing is revolutionary here, just some minor items to make the coach work a bit better for our family.

1. Our Scepter was ordered with the opposing sofa's. On the road side was the nice quality chocolate leather but the other was ordered in the base fabric. Which was a cross between peach and pink - it drove my wife crazy! The J-knife sofa was so very comfortable though. We priced new Villa replacements at $3000 USD plus shipping. We finally came across the original Ultraleather for $400 and had it shipped to the house, we found a former Lazy-boy employee who does upholstery work on the side. He recoverd our sofa for $500. So for $900 it was a great fix for us.

2. We were not big fans of the traditional Monaco pull-around curtains at the front of our coach - they were like new, however we put them on the iRV2 classifieds and sold them to a really nice couple in NY who needed new ones.
We ordered 4 new dual roller shades from the local Canadian company called Automotion. The shades shipped to the door were under a $1000. We went with the manual variety and just love the clean straight look of the blinds. I added two very simple fastners to the large windshield blind just for a extra measure of safety in the event of a failure while driving. This arrangement also allowed us the ability to retain the powered sun blinds from the factory for use while driving.

3. My wife and I did not like the PDQ floorplans dining table arrangement. But what my wife did like was having the cabinet for storage and the long counter to put out snacks - but we also wanted a spot to put a single mattress for the nights that our daugthers bring a friend along. So after much deliberation we elected to remove the table and cut it down to a smaller size with a single RV leg post with a flush floor mount. We also had a matching leather sleeve made to slide over the metal table post to match the other leather in the coach. Now the table is perfect for the kids to have a snack at or do a craft and we can store it in a cabinet when we need extra space. I replaced the opening that was left where the slideout table was before with a cherry drawer face that we had leftover from our Samsung 197 mod. While the drawer is faux - you can't tell the difference.

I know my work isn't perfect - but I hope you enjoy looking at the pics.

Still waiting for it to warm up as I have removed the carpet from the bedroom and will be installing Cherry flooring there next week - Its still cold here in Ontario - Please send us spring after reading my post!

Thanks
Adam.

Wow! Looks great, and that's a really good idea with the removable table too! Hope you enjoy many happy miles if it ever warms up, up there. We live in Arizona and never have to complain about the weather... well almost never! Well anyway, nice job and safe travels.

Nice, very nice send some pictures of the bedroom floor. I was looking at wood floor for my Thunder but have three different levels of floor. Engine cover and such. Still might do it just on the bottom floor.
By the way it was 89 degrees here in San Tan Valley, Az. Getting to warm for us.
