I have a 2009 HR Neptune with SCS Frigette
dash a/c. Checked a/c clutch fuse, OK.

The compressor clutch is not turning a and condenser fan is not turning. How do I check to see if a/c clutch is bad and why condenser fan is not working?

Richard 44 I don't know what tests you have done on your system but lack of freon to use the correct term 134A will shut down your compressor and if pressure in your system is low the condenser fan will not come on. So the first thing I would do is check to see your head pressure on the system.

Seems like this is a problem that is going around....same issue with my coach. Low freon is the suspected cause.

If the freon is at the proper level then check your preset thermostat in the gen compartment on the fire wall, it will have two wires going to it and a thermocouple going to the cool box of the dash AC unit, unplug both wires (be sure to mark the wires ) hook both wires together and then try and see if thats your problem. This preset thermo is there to shut down the AC compressor in case the dash air freezes up, you can run without it.

Maybe I should have given you the way it stopped working first. We were driving it home right after we bought it....the dash air was working and cold. We was in the middle of a run of tornado warnings and it was raining, so my wife pushed the switch to one of the blower settings which happened to be the window defrost and then back to a/c after a couple minutes. The a/c has not come on since then, just warm air...not hot, just kinda like outside air. I will look at it again in the morning and let you know what I find.

I took mh to shop yesterday and they want to replace compressor, dryer, clean system...etc. They did not check freon level, which is why I started asking questions on here.
I checked the preset thermostat this am and wired around as per Walt and that did not fix problem. I am going to get freon checked today. This mh only has 12,000 miles on it and I can tell alot of it was in cold temps. so I can't really believe compressor is already out, but when it comes to me, anything is possible. I just want to be sure new compressor is needed before I commit to it. I took the mh to a local mechanic shop, not a trailer place and I am thinking maybe that is where I need to take the mh....your thoughts.
I really appreciate all of the help and input from all of you. I am a real newbie when it comes to mh workings and I do not have any manuals.

If it was working and it stopped when your wife changed settings on the control panel, I would find it hard to believe that the compressor and dryer went bad together at that very moment. If the compressor shattered and filled the dryer with shrapnel, ok maybe, but it sounds more like a control system failure. I would get someone else like a A/C shop to give you another opinion. The compressor and dryer replacement will be very costly and may not solve the problem. I would not do that unless I was sure it was needed.

My 08 won't blow cold as well. Have 15K miles on it. I'm not sure what the issue is yet. I'll check the preset thermostat nect time I'm out.

Mine had 24k miles they replaced just about everything over 900 dollars but the place I bought it from made good on the bill. RV wholesaler made good on a few things even came to the house and picked it up brought back later everything fixed ...no bill. I would buy from him again..
