Hi All,
Anyone been on Highway 126 from Bend, OR. to Eugene, OR. recently. On Oregon's "Tripcheck" website it looks like there is some snow alongside the roadway according to the camera. Are there any bad areas that you would need chains to get through. We're planning on going through there on Saturday. I need a safe passage to pay the "Troll Toll". We made it to Burn today, then Bend tomorrow and then into Junction City on Saturday. I love the "easy day" drives. We're not in any hurry.

OOoooooHHHHHH AKAYYYYY....
Uhmmmmm.. Did you see THIS?
1...2....3...
4. Turn left to merge onto Bend Pkwy N/US-97 N toward The Dalles 3.2 mi
5. Take the US-20 W ramp to Sisters/Salem 0.5 mi
6. Merge onto US-20
7. Turn left at S Hood St/OR-242 0.2 mi
8. Turn right at OR-242
This road may be seasonally closed
I checked and you will have a little longer trip...according to ODOT... it is closed!
Make sure you avoid the 242 getting over to 126 AND you are supposed to be carrying chains...
The good news is...The Troll is in town!

We didn't come across 242 as we'd seen the weather closure already. We stayed on US 20 through Sisters, OR and the Santium Pass before turning onto US 126 which took us to I-5 and Eugene. No snow falling anywhere along the way, including Bend. We did get a bit of drizzle at Sisters but barely enough to wet the windshield. The snow was right up to the edge of the road through the pass, but no snow or ice on the road. So easy drive the whole way.
An interesting note though, there was an old forest fire burning after the Santium Pass. It didn't look like anyone much cared about it because nobody was looking after it.
Now we're settled in site #53 at the Deerwood RV Park. Beautiful place. Now we're just waiting for the Troll to come buy to collect her toll.
