Trying to finish up some PM's on a new to me dynasty. Removed the hydraulic oil filter today and found this sitting on top of the filter intake area when I removed the filter. Not sure what it is but looks like a piece of semi-hard sponge. Trying to imagine how it got in there. Guess it didn't hurt anything since fluid looked clean and all. Suppose it just floated around on top of the filter in the oil until the pump started. I have a picture of it posted under Class A's. Will try to post it here. Any guesses of what happened. This is one of the reasons I like to do things myself.

Have no idea. Probably something fell in doing construction. Replace the filters and all should be well.

If this is the first time they've been changed it did its job!! In the long run someone somewhere left it in the system!!!! Perhaps it's just an indication that Sponge Bobs pants are no longer square.

I was told on another forum that repair shops will often remove a hydraulic hose and place a piece of sponge in it to keep the fluid from seeping out. Hope this was what happened and it was the only hose that was not checked before installation. I may have to consider flushing out the system.
