Question Hydraulic system

I have a 2009 Monaco LaPalma diesel pusher. My problem: when trying to leave a campground after 30 days, I attempted to close the slide...nothing happened. Then I tried to retract the jacks....jacks went all the way down instead of up. Now nothing on the hydraulic system works. A repairman says the electric hydraulic pump motor is frozen. This is the second time that this motor has gone bad in 2 and a half years. (the first time camping world replaced this motor and the control panel under my extended warranty - cost over $2000).

What could possibly cause this motor to go bad twice in less than 3 years?
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I remember some threads on this issue from a couple of years ago. One of the frequent failure modes was caused by a seal allowing the hydraulic fluid to leak from the reservoir and into the motor. I don't remember if it was the same manufacturer as on your unit or a different manufacturer.

I replaced the seal in the hydraulic pump on mine a couple of years ago. It is a Lippert pump. Seal was hard as a rock. When the seal goes the hydraulic fluid can leak into the motor and short it out. Quite a job to change it as all the hydraulic lines and electrical plugs have to be removed to get the unit out. Mine controls the two front slides and the leveling system. Take lots of pictures and mark all the hydraulic lines. The seal is only a few dollars but it's all the time to get at the seal to replace it. Did mine over a couple of days and replaced the fluid while I was at it. Two years now and everything is still nice and dry. The seal is available at your local bearing shop. My understanding is that Lippert doesn't sell parts to repair it. They want to sell you the entire assembly which is not cheap.
