Hydro hot life expectancy

I just noticed my 2004 hydro hot just rolled over 2000 running hours. If well maintained what is the life expectancy. Do I have to start saving now??

Which brings up a related question... What is the hour-meter actually counting? Total time the entire unit is on (ie, heating water as well as providing heat/furnace, or just when on heating/furnace)?

Just noticed my 'new' 2008 Camelot has 1600+ hours.

Believe it's the time the burner is running.

Mine has 5000 hours on it and is almost 14 years old. I just had to replace the burner motor at about $380 for the part. The brushes in the motor had finally worn down to to the springs and it would no longer turn. I plan on rebuilding the motor myself to have a spare on hand, but I'm like that so...

IMO thats not bad really for a small electric motor with that many hours and years in it's service.

The hour meter only ticks when the burner is actually firing.

I'd say at 2000 hours, if you maintain it properly you have quite a bit of service left in it.

My hour meter counts when the blower is on - not just burner firing. Includes the start up and post purge.

Does Aqua-Hot use an hour meter and if so where is located? I've serviced mine a couple of times and don't remember seeing one

Thanks in advance

As you face it, mine is on top behind the two hose-fittings at the far right, facing upwards.

As I understand not all models have an hour meter. Mine is a 450-DE1. Similar to the HHE-200-09M, HHE-500-09E, HHE-200-08E, HHE-500-08M, and AHE-450-DM1.

Here is a recent thread where one member added an hour meter.

He tapped into the signal to the fuel solenoid and that will measure only firing time.

Brian

Mine has about 5000 hours and is working fine. However, I have replaced the Webasto burner unit and the silver control box.

The Webasto burner developed a fuel leak that the pros could not solve. Leaked fuel continuously after shutdown and the whole coach would smell like diesel. I got a good deal on a new burner and control box and replaced them both.

2000 hrs! just a baby!!!
