I don't understand my air dump
Hi all I have a new to me 99 Windsor 34. I wanted to practice leveling the coach yesterday and went to dump the air bags in with the key in the acc position witch is the position for leveling and nothing happened, so I thought oh well mud dabbers my go to answer but that wasn't it . so before I panicked I tried to do it with the key in the run mode and they air bags dropped fine. my question is. Is that normal to have to have the key in the run mode while the oil pressure alarm sound the whole time, or what is the thing I'm missing.

To use my jacks (not the same MH as yours) the key has to be in the run position which is annoying as you say.
I would think from a logical point of view, things like jacks and air dumps and slides should only operate if the ignition key was hanging on a hook rather than in the ignition.

John,
Just add a touch more confusion for you, I have 2007 Cayman now and previously a 2002 Cayman, both dump the bags in the Aux position for the key, but require the key in the ignition position to operate the jacks. The 2002 did not do that in Aux (handbook said it should) when we got it, turned out to be a fuse in the main fuse panel, may be worth checking your wiring diagrams for an Aux fuse control of some kind and checking it.
Cheers
Steve

air dump
Some things on my old sport coach made since that one the air dump was right on the HWH panel and everything worked from AUX position I suppose everyone has to do it there own way or is it just some poor draftsman who don't have a MH just playing a trick on us old guys

I guess my 2002 Windsor is different because I dump the air with the key "off". !

I know with mine some things like the Power Gear Levellers, don't function unless the coach is actually running.

On my MH, the air bags automatically go back to the "Travel" position when I start the engine. I'm not sure what would happen if you continue to hold down the "Dump" button. I've read about folks dumping the air to get under low overpasses so maybe that would work.

Bob, mine works like what your describing...annoying? yes.....but I'm sure it's been done that way to attempt to make it idiot proof too.

wireing
I found a wiring for the 99 Dynasty on the yahoo forum which on the areas I've looked at are the same. That was the way the lay out has it bags on ign and jacks on acc. So if it really ticks Pat off I'll change it. Wiring diagrams are so handy it's a shame there aren't more of type thing included in the manual even if it were an option.

In my 2001 diplomat. I can dump in acc or run mode. But the key must be in one of those positions. I happen to like that, in case one of the grand kids has a free hand.

It doesn't look like it would take much to move it. I'm just getting lazy, when Pat gets noisy enough about it will move up on the list.
