Here's a new one to me but thank heavens I figured it out quickly and easily. The other day we were driving down the road and I decided to put the MH on "cruise control". I make a habit of always keeping cruise control in the "on" position so all I have to do is punch the "set" button whenever I want to cruise freely.
The day before, we had the mh in the shop. Apparantly the tech turned off the cruise control when bringing it into the shop. I did not look at my dashboard to see if the cruise control light was on like I usually do and was also used to to having it on anyway. Wellll....I held my finger on the "set" button and was wondering why the mh wouldn't stay at the same speed that I was trying to keep it. I looked at the dash just in time to see the "Check Engine" light come on. Yeah, I wasn't happy. This all happened at the same time. My finger was still on the "set" button and I let off of it at the same time that I was looking at the "Check Engine" light. The light went out at the same time that I let off of the "set" button. The "Check Engine" light never came on again and hasn't come on since then. Apparantly the systems was telling me that it didn't like me trying to "set" the cruise control while the cruise control was "off" and keeping my finger mashed down on the "set" button. I will say though that I haven't tried it again on purpose because I'm afraid of it and I would rather "let sleeping dogs lie" if you know what I mean.
Happy travels all,
Tom Brickwell
