I'm thinking of plugging my refrigerator and my icemaker cords into my icemaker outlet which will let me run off the inverter even when I'm not hooked up to shore power. I know it will be a drain on the house batteries but I have eight 6 volt batteries and 6 solar panels that put out close to 50 amps when the suns shining. At night will go to gas then back to electric during the day.

This would help me keep the fridge temps in line with were they should be. When I disconnect the shore power and go to gas the temps rise about 4 to 6 degrees in each compartment. I plan to check the burner and gas pressure out but not until after the trip to Napa for the races this weekend.

Any reason why this wouldn't work?

Thats how I have mine. I have 8 solar panels and 6-6volts and it keeps up just fine during the day. It came in handy when it wouldn't work on propane last trip out. Turned out my burner was dirty and wouldn't light.
