This is my first time asking a question. Recently I noticed that my ignition switch on my 2008 Neptune seemed to be in a different positon. However, still was able to start it. However, now it is so loose that I have to reach under dash and hold it while starting engine. I was taking it in to a truck repair for another issue and asked them to look at it. They said it was probably a set screw. However, today they told me they can't locate set screw and I would probably have to take it to an RV dealer. Has anyone had this issue and know how to tighten it back up? Leaving for Florida day after Christmas and would hate to have to reach under dash every time I need to start engine. Thanks for any assistance anyone can give me.

I had the same problem with my 05 sceptre..I fixed it by first taking the key tumbler out...you do that with a paper clip and insert it into the hole where the key goes and mine popped right out..But leave the key in so you have something to pull on..Then turn the bezel which is the trim around the ignition switch so you TIGHTEN the bezel. You may have to reach to the backof the dash to hold it tight while you tighten the bezel..The ignition switch is sandwitched between the bezel and the ignition assembly. Mine tightend up but my plan B would be to put a spacer between the switch and dash to allow it to tighten...On some ignition assemblies there is a little notch in the switch housing and and a tab in the dash that have to be lined up to keep it from turning in the dash. Not sure about yours. Just be aware that you may see a notch and wonder what it is..just line the two notches and tab up and tighten the bezel..

Hope this helps..It is not a big job to repair just tighten it more..or the spacer

Did mine in 10 minutes..

Ted has already given you the answer. You can make a tool to use on the bezel and that will help. If you want pictures of a tool like that, let me know rbdtanasi at yahoo dot com and I will send them to you. I made a tool from a PVC fitting.
