Hi all,

I have an 04 diplomat and need to remove the ignition switch to replace a dash panel. I was sure that I would only have to remove the "key guard" piece from the front of the panel and the switch would drop out the back. Well, it doesn't seem that simple. I completly unscrewed the front section but it did not release. Does anyone know what to do next to get this thing out?

Thanks for your help

Jerry

Jerry I did a write-up on changing out the dash and side panel. Part of that is the ignition switch removal with pictures and what in needed for that. If you would like a copy in PDF let me know rbdtanasi @ yahoo dot com and I will send it. There is a trick to removing the ignition switch as well as the headlight switch.

Old Chevy trick... key in ignition, straightened paper clip pushed in the little hole next to key. Wiggle/turn and it pulls right out.
Assuming this is a dash mounted switch.
