I'm confused about batteries

I was always under the assumption that if your battery had three holes on the top- it was a 6 volt-6 holes = 12 volt.
I have to replace my house batteries and they have three holes.
Most posts say get "Deep Cycle golf cart type.
I went to three or four suppliers looking for 6 volt "Deep Cycle"
All three said this type was never made ???
I began looking at 6 volt standard type, all were way to small. the ones I removed were the same size as 12 volt.
Has anyone seen a 6 volt big unit ?? or a 12 volt with three holes.
Larry

Go to NAPA auto parts and search GC 2 batteries. You will get specs there of a few types and if they are in stock, near by.

Good luck

6 volt golf cart batteries are deep cycle by default.

Go to any place that sells golf cart batteries such as Sams or Cosco

Bought ours at Sam's Club. About $84 each.

The most common six volt Lead Acid battery is the GC-2,, GC = Golf Car, and those are Deep Cycle.... The battery store salesmen are, for the most part, salesman (I can direct you to one store in SC where the salesman is the owner and actually knows the difference between one thing and another).

And as you may know Salesmen either have their name sewn onto their shirt or on a name tag so they do not forget it. (Old joke).

But the GC-2 is the battery you want, if you want best performance v/s cost.. There are better batteries, but they cost more (L-16 for example)

Measure the physical size of the original batteries too. In my HR Endeavor the only battery that would fit in the tray and under the relay box were the same as the original u220 Interstates.

You can search online for batteries and compare all their specifications before buying.

When we got our Georgetown, the single 12V house battery was shot. I went to Costco and got two of their deep-cycle 12V units, which were the right size to sit side-by-side in the battery tray. 4 years, no problems.

If there are any future problems, they're for the new owner!

I have replaced the 12 volt batteries in my last two trailers with two Trojan 6 volt house batteries (in series). They are about $150 each, but out perform any two 12 volt batteries in parallel.
I just purchased a new Itasca Reyo and will do the same there as well.

Batteries plus and batteries express both have GC2 batteries at reasonable costs. Then there is Costco, BJ s and Sam's club. As I understand it,there are many brand names but only 3 or 4 actual manufacturers.
I used NAPA parts on my last coach for GC2 batteries because of the AAA discount.

Be careful with the Costco and Sams club batteries in your coach were 232 amp hour batteries from interstate. The batteries from Costco and Sams may be 200 amp hour or less. You can contact any Interstate dealer for a direct replacement.
