I thought I would climb under coach and change all the filters and get it ready for some winter trips out here in the desert. Oil change went great. Changed fuel filters and did just as the instructions say, filled all the filters to capacity before installing new ones... even filled fuel lines a bit. What follows is a few hours spent agonizing as to why I purchased this vehicle .
I started the engine, the 5.9 cummins purred like a kitten for about 30 seconds, then she quit. Would not start again. After many hours of troubleshooting and hope this helps someone else with an older coach (1992), the fuel check valve in the fuel line coming from tank had its diaphram eaten away. I was also parked on a slight grade at Base RV storage area. The engine was on high side of incline and fuel tank low side. When I cracked open the first fuel filter, all the fuel in line (29ft)hence, bad check valve, drained back into the tank. So, after several hours I finally realized that.
Anyway, hope my many hours of troubleshooting helps someone out there.
