Bob.....Something to remember when driving a diesel......Gas coaches accelerate, diesels gain momentum.

BudtheDiplomat - There's no pedal mashing in a diesel!

Something to remember when airing up the tires from the motorhomes' compressor. If the tire pressure is more than the air pressure in the tanks you will not get anymore air into the tires. Sometimes there is enough air in the tanks that the low air pressure switch does not trigger the compressor to come on. Hit the breaks a few times to lower the air pressure until your compressor comes on. When it does, it will fill your tanks until the "hi" pressure switch triggers the compressor to turn off. Then continue to fill your tires. If your tire air pressures are low on all of your tires, this may take a couple of times to get the tank pressure above the tire pressures you want to achieve. Don't be in a hurry this may take awhile sometimes. But the good thing is, is that it works and works well....especially if you don't have another compressor around!

Later folks,

AKBrick

Diplomat Don;;

I must be a momentum masher then .
..a treadle valve stepper on-er..
..a throttle jockey..

..that fun pedal thingy; the one that doesn't hiss at you ssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

Whatever it connects to, it is the most fun I've had in, oh, 50-something years.

This was my 100th post! Wow. Where does the time go!

AK, are you still out on the road? How's your trip going?

I know what you mean, Bud. I even enjoy driving the Dip to the dealer for repairs. Now, that's REALLY sick!

Robin;
I enjoy going to the dealer, too. I am told that the next time I go, they want me to take a 2009 Signature out for a drive.

I said, "Oh okay. If I have to..."

Funny you should ask BudtheDiplomat,
We're currently in Junction City, OR. at Guaranty getting our roof cracks repaired and some other warrenty issues taken care of. It looks like we'll be problem free for a little while after this.

My wife is keeping an eye on me to make sure I don't go into any new MH's. Hope everythings going well with you.

AK;
I did 8 weeks of cold weather training in Fairbanks one year, 6 weeks each 5 other times. I thought they must be sending me back cause I wasn't getting something right! It was pretty darn cold but I still know how to set up a Yukon stove and pull an aikio!

And you LIVE THERE!?! Bless your heart. How'd that happen?

BudtheD,
Not anymore we don't. I went up there with my dad when he was stationed at Fort Wainwright as the IG in 1971. I guess you can call me a retired Alaskan sourdough. I've done my time at Prudoe Bay during the pipeline days and spent 31 years working as a power plant operator. We're not going back up for a couple of years. We sold out everything except for a couple of 8'x6' storage crates. The Cheetah is our home now and we're loving the fulltiming gig as long as we can stand it. Our goal is to eventually get to all 49 states. That may take awhile, oh well, what else am I going to do?
