Check on the Source Engineering Site to see if that years has trailing arm issues. Also get the engine ser# and check on the Cummins forum to see if there any issues there.

It only has a 17500 rear axle...you can forget putting a large cycle on a lift on the back. You will barely have enough CCC for your stuff.

Here's a brochure.

https://www.monacocoach.com/resource...88_brc_pdf.pdf

It's a lighter weight DP with the Cummins ISB and has a 5000 lb towing capacity so you'll be limited in your choice of toad.

It has the RR4R chassis which most likely was part of the recall. It's imperative you make sure the recall has been done or factor that into your negotigation. It's definitely a safety issue unless its been corrected.

Here's a list of affected motor homes:

Monaco Knight 2002 - 2004

Monaco Cayman 2002 - 2009

Holiday Rambler Ambassador 2002 - 2004

Holiday Rambler Neptune 2002 - 2009

Safari Cheetah 2002 - 2007

Safari Simba RD All Years

Safari Zanzibar/Sahara 2002 -2005

Beaver Baron All Years

Info from source engineering.

I have an 07 Neptune. I've had it since I bought it new in 07. As others have said first and foremost make sure the trailing arms have changed. It actually has a 7000# tow capacity. Mine has right at 3000# carrying capacity. We dont full time but packed for a long trip and full of water I still have pretty decent carrying capacity left over. If the price is right and coach is taken care of, it would be a solid dependable rig. Compared to the 8 bag chassis it's a step down but also costs less. The 5.9 ISB is slightly underpowered but gets the job done and usually returns close to 10 mpg. Best of luck. If you have further questions feel free to ask. I've been there and done that with my coach and I'd be more than glad to help.
