I am installing a brakemaster supplement braking system on a 2007 Holiday Rambler Neptune and looking for information of how to tie into the air line off the rear brakes. So far I seem to have tied into the parking brake so this dosen't work. Do I need a special fitting to fit into the brake solidede?

Thanks

If you go to your rear wheel brake canister which should be just inside your rear wheel facing forward, there will be a heavy air line going to it. Follow that air line back to its supply source. Yours may be slightly different than mine. On mine the line goes ahead of the back axle and up to the brake relay valve, which should be fastened to the coach floor. There you should see air supply line(s) going to that relay valve, and the brake air lines for the rear brake wheel canisters coming out of it.

There may be an extra port or two in that brake relay valve that you can use by removing the plug in the port and installing your new fitting and air line. Mine did not have an extra port, so it was accomplished by the previous owner in this manner: the air line that I traced from the wheel brake canister up to the relay valve was removed at the relay valve, a T-fitting was installed, then the line was screwed back into the T-fitting, and then the fitting for the brakemaster was screwed into the T-fitting with the plastic air line running from there to the back of the coach.

Hope that's a little clearer than mud.

Hi Gene,
I put the Roadmaster system on my 99 Diplomat this spring, my toad is a 2003 Focus and the system works very well. I would go to the Roadmaster web site and download everything about it if you don't have the manual.
I did not have an extra port on the brake relay so I had to get a tee, Roadmaster wanted $35.00 for one but I went to Industrial Hydraulics in Olympia,Wa. got the tee for about $13.00. I looked for a sales slip with a part #,.... but it is in the abis (somewhere in my shop) yours may not be the same fitting away. I blocked the coach, had my wife press on the brake pedal while I loosened (DON'T NEED TO PULL THE AIR LINE ALL THE WAY OFF YET) one air line at a time to make sure I got the correct line. The Installation instructions show a 3/8" or 1/2", I used a 1/2" tee. Think it took more time to plumb and wire the car than it did to do the coach! I changed a few things to suit my job, there is nowhere to mount the
air reservoir under the hood, so I mounted it to the brake cylinder assembly and put an air disconnect and power disconnect under the dash so when I remove the brake assembly the breakaway reservoir comes with it. The Focus does'nt power the brake lights unless the key is all the way on,so I put another light socket in the rear brake/tail light assembly of my toad and wired it to a plug at the front of the car, mounted a $6.00 brake light switch on the toad brake pedal for the brake indicator light on the motorhome dash. Those changes made it better for me, and after all, I like doing it myself!
Kinda long answer, hope it helps
