On my old MH I installed a SeeLevel tank monitoring system, which works great. I want to install one on my new 2009 Camelot. Wondering if anyone has installed one and has recommendations? Also, the hall monitor panel - if I were to loosen it up so I can see behind it (to see where I can install the SeeLevel panel) will I get any nasty surpises with wires pulling loose or anything?

Thanks for your help.

John

I know that LukeA has done this on his Diplomat. Maybe you can PM him if no one else answers your question.

As for the hall monitor panel I have had this off on my Diplomat several times and this is straight forward. Just a bunch of wires connected to the controls on the panel. I think that it is safe for you to take the front off, and I am convinced that you will find the inside a lot less "high tech" than you first imagined.

Good luck with your project. Come back and tell us how you did

What tanks do you want to monitor? My 2009 Camelot has a tank monitoring system in the hall and in the service bay. It monitors fresh, grey, black and, LP.

Hi John - Just completed the install of the SeeLevel in our 2006 HR Ambassador this past weekend. The hardest part for me was gaining access to the ends of the gray & black tanks - Had to remove the white panel in the wet bay, but thanks to some excellent pictures and instructions I found on this site, I was able to do it with minimal difficulty.
I am not familiar with your hall monitor panel, but it is probably similar to mine - I removed the 8 screws and the panel came out easily with all the wires coming with it. I actually marked all of the connectors for wires and disconnected them, so I could remove the panel. I then used my Dremel moto tool with a cutting wheel and cut out the appropriate size opening for the seelevel display where the old tank monitor lights were. The Seelevel display looks like it was meant to be there, and I didn't have to cut any openings in the wall. I mounted a second seelevel display in the wet bay where the old monitor lights were - Again, used the dremel to enlarge the opening to the correct size.

It is so nice to have actual tank levels displayed - my original system never worked well, and I was never sure how full the tanks actually were.

Good Luck,

Gary

Thanks for the feedback. I did a search on SeeLevel but didn;t find what you refer to:

" Had to remove the white panel in the wet bay, but thanks to some excellent pictures and instructions I found on this site,"

Can you help me find these postings?

Thanks,

John

Tank Monitors gives some info on install and
This picture form Kev shows the ends of the gray & black tanks and answered my questions on how the panel comes off of the water lines (screw on connectors from the back).

John, I have another brand that I installed and did the following. My control panel had the old gauges near the top. I cut out the old idiot lights and mounted the new panel (your SeeLevel unit) over the area where i cut the old ones out. I was able to use two of the four screws that were already in the wall panel. Mine looks like it came that way.
