Interior lights don't work

I have a 2002 Monaco Windsor. We just returned from vacation, I parked the coach in my heated shed, plugged it into shore power(20 amp) like always, and unloaded it. A few days later I came back to get something and none of the interior lights work. All outlets have power, it shows that the inverter is working, but no lights. I have checked all breakers and fuses and can find nothing wrong. I can't find a GFCI which I thought might be tripped. It seems this happened to me before, but for the life of me I can't remember what I did to remedy this. Any thoughts? Thank you

I've got a 2002 Windsor also.

As you get into the coach, on the left on side there is a small switch panel mounted on the passenger side console.

There is one that controls the 12 volt solenoid, often called the salesman switch which turns off all 12 volt power.

My guess is that you accidentally flipped the switch off.

When we had our Windsor we hit the salesman switch by accident also.
Luckily the mobile mechanic we called ask enough questions to "diagnosis " the problem.
Yes, I felt stupid.
But really glad it was "fixed"!

I think I have tried that but I will try again. Wouldn't that turn off all the outlets as well? They all still have power to them.

We had power to most of the outlets but the front lights didn't work.
Bedroom lights did.

Happened to me also. Outlets are 120. All of our interior lights went out but we were still able to use anything that we could plug in (we were on shore power) My repair guy found a bad ground at the inverter that caused all 12V to shut down. Jim E. OKC

Ok I have some additional info to add to this mystery. I tried the salesman switch with shore power plugged in and not. No change. My cargo bay lights work and they are 12v I assume? Also, my tv and fridge have power weather plugged into shore power or not. That tells me it is inverting properly. I tried the lights with the genset running and still nothing. This all tells me there must be a switch or fuse that has blown and that is why interior lights aren't working. What am I missed my here? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Still sounds like the salesman switch. That switch controls a relay. Wonder if the relay has failed. If so you can jumper the output.

Have you turned the salesman switch off and on and listen for the solenoid clicking? If you can't hear it, it's failed and you'll need to find it. If it is clicking, take the 2 large wires off it it and connect them together on one of the posts. Mine is in the front run bay under the driver. They fail.

Okay thanks for the info guys. I will check on the solenoid/relay to make sure it is working. I hope its as simple as that!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

My guess would be the salesman's switch also! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Well, you guys were right! I replaced the battery isolator relay yesterday and immediately heard a clicking sound. This was the battery solenoid working. I check the lights and everything is normal once again. Thanks so much for the great info. This forum is awesome for us DIYers! Thanks again and happy trails!

My solenoid did the same thing. We never use it so instead of replacing it I just bypassed it with some heavy gauge wire.
