Intermittent step cover

2001 Dynasty. Step cover is intermittent. Seems to be on the same circuit as temp/compass. Seems if I toggle house dc switch by stairwell it comes back to life. anyone run into this?

Your step cover is air powered. The step cover switch sends a 12 VDC current to one side or the other of a MAC valve located on the firewall on the curb side of the generator. You can see it when the gen slide is out. The MAC valve is a small device with a wiring pig tail and 3 air lines. Your's most likely is failing. They are $30-40 and available at hydraulic/air industrial supply distributors. Take off yours & take it in for a match. Or get a replacement from Monaco for triple the price.

Thanks. I've located the valve. Seems to be associated with the wiring since the in-dash temp/compass display is also inop when the step cover is inop. . Good point though...next time it's inop I'll check for power at the Mac valve.
