Gotta watch that pesky MSW-inverter stuff at times. As Dave O pointed out, the output is quite different than regular shore-power. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just that some appliances/etc can tolerate the waveform better than others.
My microwave sounds like it's about to buzz right out of the cabinet on inverter (but is fine on shore), because it's not getting nice smooth power. Haven't done ab analysis, but I'd assume it's putting out less power then too.
One clock (but none of the others - same model, go figure) is about 25 minutes fast per hour when in inverter, too.
And the new electric-blanket won't work at all. Drove me nuts with that one initially, til I guessed correctly why it was doing that (which was confirmed elsewhere in irv2.com I might add!).
Dunno if the alarm-system can/will work with the MSW signal, but there's one way to find out... Also might want to look into a little true sine-wave inverter to power just the alarm-system, if it turns out to not work on the MSW signal (larger ones are quite pricey.)
