Last trip out camping we had an issue with the magnum inverter going into false mode.

You plug into power or turn the genset on and the charging system will start charging the batteries and after a complete charge it goes into standby. When the batteries fall down and the unit starts the charge cycle again it falses out and I have no inverter, no charging. and 110 power... no convection oven, no TV's ect ect ect...

The funky thing about it is if you turn the shore power off, turn the batteries off at the battery shut off and unplug the remotes from the unit it self, wait couple mins plug the remotes back into the unit turn the bateries back on and turn the shore power back on (genset) the unit works fine unit it has to charge the batteries again and we are back to this false light comming on and no 110 power every where again...

Any one had this problem and got it fixed? Any suggestions before we drop the coach off at the stealer...err Dealer and wait 2 months for them to fix it??

Mike,

I had the same problem with my Magnum charger/inverter when the coach was new. Only solution was for them to replace it. Actually I'm on my third Magnum inverter. Magnum has been pretty good about shipping them out without much delay, but I understand what you're saying about the dealer.

The second replacement from Magnum was not a new inverter, but a rebuilt one. At first I was a little upset about that, but then I figured I might be better off - at least a rebuilt one should have been tested thoroughly. As it turned out, that one's been trouble free for the past year or so that I've owned the coach.

We had to have ours replaced also. Coach was a week old and not working. Second one has been fine.. Hope it stays working.

I have had simular problem with a ProSine locking up and requiring a reset. I believe all of my lockups are related to bad shore power, the inverter has a micro-processor and sometime it needs rebooting. Never had it happen when not on shore power, maybe I need surge protection.
