When I'm using my inverter to watch TV, and I turn on my generator with the inverter on, when I turn off the generator I expierence power loss for a short time at the time I turn the gererator off. Then the inverter restores power to my TV and everything has to reboot. IS THIS NORMAL?
I have had other coaches that if you have the inverter on before turning off the generator you do not interupt the 115V power.

An inverter usually has an internal transfer switch that senses the presence of another source of AC and if present goes into bypass. The transfer is almost instantaneous, yours just may be a little slow or may be acting up.

I have a Xantrex inverter/charger and it does not transfier instantly back to inverter power. When external power is applied it is instant, but when removed it always drops for a couple of seconds, just enough time for everything electronic to quit and need to restart. I think this is normal for the Xantrex product.

Seems to be "normal" on the Magnum 2800 too!! I have played with settings recommended by factory "techs" for four years, frustrating!! My old Heart 2000, circa '99, never lost power. Will love to see answers on this if anyone has one that works.

I found this in my Xantrex inverter manual. It descrbes the time delay when going from the inverter to the generator. I haven't found anything about the time delay going from the generator to the inverter.
There is a minimum 5-second delay from the time the inverter senses that AC is present at the input terminals to when the transfer is made. This delay is built in to provide time for a generator to spin-up to a stable voltage and avoid relay chattering. The inverter will not transfer to generator until it has locked onto the generator’s output. The inverter’s AC input is internally connected to the inverter’s AC output while in the battery charger mode.

My Dimensions was like that, but I now have a Magnum MS-2000 that gives me control of transfer times. I have it set for a fast transfer, or what they call 'UPS Mode'. There is zero (well, 16ms per spec.) drop when killing shore power or the gen.

Not really normal... Your inverter is slow to kick in... I do not know if it's a problem
On mine (Prosine 2.0) I have a florescent lamp that is 120 volt that does blink off.
When I had Dish Network the dome antenna would re-seek the bird.
But with DirecTV it did not, Televisons and computers seem not to notice.
