Why would the ice maker be powered by the inverter and the freezer isn’t? I believe this is incorrect

In hot weather we always run the generator so the roof A/C's are powered. That makes powering the fridge a non-issue even though ours is powered by or inverter. We just drove nearly 3k miles from Atlantic Canada to TX; we ran the generator everyday. I like having our bedroom cool when we stop for the day; without the roof A/C it gets pretty warm from our big diesel.

Dear CountryB, Beaver made a great coach so don't sorry about it, leave the inverter on 24 x 7. The factory residential fridge in my Patriot Thunder is a Jenn-Air, and it draws about 11 battery amps (12V amps) thru the inverter so its 110 run load is less than an Amp when actually cooling, and the duty cycle is no where near continuous. Opening the fridge door and thus lights turn on consumes more juice than the compressor.... No problem boondocking. If you are worried about it, set the AGS to autostart your generator if your batteries draw down after a couple of days. By the way, your sub panel powered by/passed thru the inverter probably has a breaker marked for "opt refer" or "refer w/ice maker".

When on propane (generator not running) driving down the road the ice maker will continue to make ice IF it’s on the inverter circuit...the way Monaco wires it. Replacing my 1200 NoCold with a residential was the best mod ever.

Inverter
I have a 2011 diesel pusher - 41 ft Win Journey - and it also has the residential refrigerator that runs off the inverter. The only issue i ever had with it was when I unplugged the shore power AFTER starting the engine. I found that I had to go to the control panel for the power and turn the inverter on. It's that simple. It seems when there is a shore power source it switches into a different mode.

Looking at the wiring diagram, I see that the refrigerator power does not come off the Inverter (the Ice maker does), so that means the refrigerator will have no power while driving (unless I run the generator).
So I assume the design is that the refrigerator does not "need" to be powered while driving. If I start out with a cold refrigerator, everything will stay cold (with no power) for 12 to 24 hours (with occasionally opening the door to get a drink or sandwich).
Is that the idea?

If there are two outlets behind fridge, reverse the plugs so the fridge is on inverter, ice maker on shore power/genset. If only one outlet, don’t know how it separates power to the two.

The OP stated he has a residental refrigerator. They don't have 2 power cords.

If people would actually READ the thread, they would realize the issue was resolved pages ago !
Better yet, there was no issue !

Your diagram is not clear enough for me to make a good evaluation of. If your fridge is connected to a inverter outlet, having the inverter on when you are driving will provide the power you need for the fridge to function just fine.
Is your AC truly 240VAC? My system is 120/120VAC with no 240VAC appliances on board. The generator is 2 in phase 120VAC lines fed from the generator internal inverter. Each has a separate hot and neutral to the ATS. When running, if you measure the voltage across the generator L1/L2 outputs you will read 0VAC.
I hope this helps.
Happy trails,
Rick Y
