Just purchased '94 Monaco Dynasty'
Hello everyone I just purchased my first motorhome a 94 Monaco Dynasty 6ct 8.3l Cummins. I had the dealer put all new batteries in it, new circuit board for the step and several other items as well. I am having some doubts that I made the right decision purchasing it. The coach drove good & had enough power but the steering is very sloppy not sure what all front end parts would be needed. I got the coach home and started cleaning on the inside, a few hours later the AC's shut off. I verified all the breakers weren't tripped. I had 35 volts from the breaker to the transfer switch. Went to the generator breaker and also only have 35 volts with the generator running. I did verify voltage to my wall plugs and I do have 110v, So not sure if there is a voltage regulator of some sort that has failed in the generator. Also one the hydraulic fan motors is leaking fluid, the power steering pump has some small leakage. The dealer is not working with me on these issues once I got it home that day. It does have new paint, 6 new tires, engine has no blow by.The wood inside needs to be refinished which we plan on doing, overall the coach is in very good condition for its age. Did me & my step father make the right decision purchasing this coach? It has 97k miles, onan diesel generator 600 hrs. We gave $29,700 for the coach. Just trying to give you guys a run down on everything. Any help, comments is greatly appreciated. Thanks JW

JW, congrats...dont let a few "bugs" ruin your fun....you have a stout well built machine. All used MH's will have some bugs...with the Monaco, you have a solid foundation with an excellent engine and trans. I have a 96 Dynasty....pretty close to the same as yours...we love ours...we bought it used from the original owners...and it had some issues too.

I agree. I bought a 2001 last year. I had a few bugs. I out the rig in a chassis shop and had it all checked out, aligned, bearings packed, brakes checked, and height set.
Had an electrical issue. Ended up being bad circuit breakers. And other small issues.
I had cummins go through the motor.
Then I left on a 6 month trip. No issues.
Enjoy your new rig.

I agree with everyone else. we just bought a 97 Monaco which had a few small issues. I think all the older coaches will have a few. your price was a little steep to me but nothing you can do now.

The step you skipped, or the mistake you made, was not having the chassis inspected by somebody competent to do that. Expecting that at the RV dealership level is/was a mistake. Those leaks could have been part of your buying decision.
I would do that now if you suspect something is wrong in the handling department. It could be something as simple as tire pressures, alignment, or mushy rubber bushings at either end? Or it could be nothing at all? A lot of times it's about seat time. Just getting used to something that big and heavy? With no prior experience, that can take a few thousand miles! In any case, the peace of mind available for the price of an inspection is a pretty good buy. Going down the road wondering if something is about to let go is not something I would want to do very long...
Other than that, I agree with the others. I think you made a solid buy. Not sure on the particulars on your genny, but you might look into the brushes if you have them. If they're dirty or hanging they could cause your low voltage. -Al

Here is a picture of my dragster. I also am a Pyrotechnic display operator which is why the car is wrapped with all the colors. I did this from my phone so I will be able to add pictures of the coach.

JW, while it's been said above the price was a bit steep..as you know they don't give paint jobs away any longer....so you came out very well (IMO) having new paint and $3k+ worth of new tires. Here are of mine
