I think it should and I believe mine is spliced back a foot or so farther .
You are a brave talented man , I love following .

Visone says they will only cut it just behind the air horn mounting holes. The rest will be carefully diassembled without cutting. They said they will carefully remove the door frame, the drivers window and the drivers side trim strip cap/molding. They also said that once removed, they will attach it to temporary bracing to keep it rigid while it rides home on my trailer. I will be taking some 2 x 4's and deck screws just in case I need it to help sucure it to my trailer.

Yes, I worked for the Dept of Fish and Wildlife for over 30 years as a pilot and then the Senior Pilot. The General is an avid Fisherman and Hunter. He wanted to go along while we were planting fish from the King Air. You can see the fish tanks at the bottom of the photo.
My Supervisor told me that a guy that I might have heard of wanted to do a ride along. When she told me who it was, I couldn't believe it.

Pretty neat Ron.... So does "planting fish" from a King Air mean putting it down on the deck in skinny wooded ravines etc? Sounds like an exhilarating job to be doing in a King Air. I bet you end up with some floating fish from smacking the water at that speed. lol

Yes, we get down to tree top level. The fish are fingerlings, meaning very small. Their terminal velocity is only around 25mph depending on their size. The survival rate is pretty good.
If you listen carefully, you can hear when the door opens to drop the fish in this video.

No worries from me..... All my hobbies kind of run together. Amazing to see a King Air yanking and banking down low over rough terrain. Looks like you had an interesting job.

Visione has been in business a while and know what they are doing so hopefully they come through.
I've been there several times to buy some stuff for my rig.

Judging where my air horns are mounted I believe that's about where I
would have wanted the cut .
Like Jim said Visione has been at it along time , they have probably seen
and done it all .
Anyway you were going to make the cap so what's a few inches more or
less .
There was a long thread sometime ago about a guy who did the rear
cap . IIRC
He was out west I think , rented a stall in a shop , bought , rented
tools repaired his coach and drove it home .
I'm impressed , no I'm amazed at the skills and talent that you guys have
keep it coming .

Last night I finally got back to actually doing some work on the beast. I am trying to concentrate on pulling bent parts up front and have made a little progress but have a lot left to do. The passenger side dash and stairwell needs to come forward quite a bit so I decided to start by pulling from the two vertical tubes that the rear portion of the stairwell is hanging from. In order to get a good straight line to attach my chains for the pull, I decided that what was left of the retractable step assembly needed to come out first. It was apparently replaced just prior to the accident. It looks brand new other than the fact that it is bent up pretty bad and the two stair treads had been cut off and tossed in the basement storage after the accident. I should be able to straighten it out and repair it good as new.
I got it removed last night and did a half@ssed attempt at a pull. About that time I heard an airplane and walked out to see an old friend was getting ready to land.... No more work for the evening on the beast....time for a good hangar flying BS session with my old friend. lol
Tonight I will probably make some progress regarding the stairwell.

Great night in the shop last night!
Managed to pull my stairwell forward without damage to the stairs. Also did a hard pull of the main front double beam using two pull cylinders. It is now straight and pulled up forward and even with the side panel. Of course I still need to pull the upper part that is still leaning back forward, but that will be easy-peasy comparatively. These hydraulic pull cylinders and my forklift are working out great!
I truly thought I would end up building a new stairwell but at this point, I think I am in good shape.

I 'assumed' that the basement door I was ordering from Visone would come the right color since I'd pointed out that my RV was the exact same model, year, and color as the one they featured on their website. I even mentioned their stock number. With shipping they wanted $825 for it.
My mistake for assuming because instead of that light tan with metal flakes one off of that RV, they sent me a dark blue one. Had to take the door down to Mexico for painting ($200) and brought the matched paint with me ($110).
So just saying don't count on getting the right color unless you ask and arrange for it.
