My new to me 01 Dynasty DP keypad lock won't lock. I have the unlock code, and it will unlock after I manually lock the door. Monaco tech support told me several codes to try for locking...555 hold the 1...559...nothing works. Any thoughts or advice????

Bruce, I have a keypad on my 06 Beaver and sometimes it freezes up and will not lock or unlock. I found if I remove the keypad and unplug it then plug back in it resets and works fine. Its an easy thing to try, only two screws hold the pad to the coach.

When we picked up our new Ambassador last week the Tech looked at our door and said you need to be thankful you do not have the key pad lock. He said, you cannot believe how many coachs they have had to fix that locked the owners inside and they could not get it unlocked. Besides, I can feel in my pocket for my keys, but cannot trust my memory to remember a number. s/Toby

Did you try the remote keyfob clicker?

Ours was not sensative enough in cold weather. Essex replaced it even tho it was a few days out of warranty. They were very helpful via e-mail. As for the lock-in thing I havn't heard that one yet! Contact Essex at:

Only time I have trouble with mine is in cold temps. solution, stay out of the north in cold temps. (below 40) Newmar replaced pad twice and it works great now.

One good tip. Stash a key somewhere, in the towed or else where to use if the key pad fails. The failure could be with the lock system or even full electrical producing no dc power. This is especially important if you have a pet that is inside. I keep a key elsewhere and thankfully I've never needed it yet.
