kitchen fan not working

The fan over the stove in our kitchen area is not working. I took the cover off and disconnected the wires going to the fan (wires are one red and one yellow). After hooking up to my voltmeter it read .44 volts (read that as no power). The chart at the fuse box says that one fuse protects the bathroom and the kitchen vent fans) and the bathroom fan works....Huh? Someone tell me that it is really fused somewhere else.... I have no clue how to proceed.

Help

Thanks

Check the voltage at the switch (inbound not outbound) to make sure you have 12+ volts there. If so, you have a bad switch or bad connection between there and the fan. If no power at the switch, possible other fuse (MH manuals are rarely 100% accurate), bad connection elsewhere, bad ground, or a mouse chewed a wire.

darn

Sorry about that....forgot the thermostat by the couch....normally don't use it so didn't associate it with the fan at first.

Apologies....and thanks 666 for the response.....
